    Welcome To The Forum

Welcome to the Amplifier Forum. I really wanted to start a forum for people who are interested in Amplifiers. I hope that this forum can become a place for people to get good advice on purchasing new and used amplifiers as well as a place to help others with repairs and parts plus the proper usage of their amplifier.

This forum is new and still under a bit of construction. I have added a few thing to this forum to make it very useful to registered members. I hope you will join in and lets start talking about QRO.

I have requested that all members use their call sign when registering. It is not a swipe at CBers, I use to be a CBer many years ago. It is just that I have seen on many mixed forums were some people identify themselves and others use handles. Some of the anonymous people tend to be very abusive towards others simply because they are anonymous. This forum is here to help people and not abuse them! Posts will be moderated within reason, I have no problems with heated debates, so long as they do not get too personal.

I saw your webpage about a year ago and thought to myself that you were working on an almost impossible job!
I am really impressed that you were able to repair it and get it to look almost new. Fantastic Job Bruce, that must have taken a lot of work.
What did you do about the rust on the inside and on the bottom of the case?

I was looking into that for another ham with a 1.5kfx and found that it requires an acid cleaning followed by zinc plating and then using yellow chromate. (Sounded like loads of work) Did you go that far or did you just sand it off and spray the interior?
